Alcohol and Smoking

Posted by maladiction at 10:59 PM on November 18, 2008 Comments comments (1)

At our last committee meeting (19/11/08) it was decided to have all future comps and events hosted by Maladiction to be alcohol and smoke free. This means that Maladiction will not sell alcohol at all, you may of course bring your own, but there will be no alcohol or smoking around the official Maladiction area during comps.

This decision was derived after consultation with our insurance providers, as Maladiction do have a "Duty Of Care" to members and we were in breach of the Vic. Liquor Act.

This means can still have a good time and be responsible club members.

Dear elley,

Can you bounce this to all the clubs as they showed strong support for
this position  of the Victoria Water Forum at the AGM because backing
their position will result in the cessation of ocean outfalls
everywhere.

Stand up for Democracy- time is running out!

The Victorian Water Forum*  invites you to join us in a muster & rally
on the last sitting day of Parliament in 2008, against the Brumby
Government's flawed Water Plan and short sighted decisions. The
Desalination Plant and the North-South Pipeline Projects are wrong for
the environment, wrong for our communities and too risky in these hard
economic times. Wrong decisions on water now will cost us dearly for
decades.

Before commencing these massive water projects committing Victorians
to pay for them for decades, the Government should have performed
detailed studies to determine environmentally sustainable best
practice options, and the same is true for other large infrastructure
projects. Due process and consultation have been brushed aside. These
projects will inflict long-term damage on the environment and the
economy and must be stopped.

Many other major projects and wrong decisions are being imposed on the
people of Victoria by an unelected Premier and his government.

Country Victorians will be joining with growing numbers of city
communities in opposing the Brumby Government's undemocratic decisions
and short-sighted planning.

Muster points will be set up on all major entries to Melbourne.

What:  Stop the Brumby Government riding roughshod over our rights.

Where: Muster & Rally at Parliament, Spring St, Melbourne.

When:  Thursday 4th December. Arriving at 11am. Rally begins at Midday.

Why: Victoria needs fresh water thinking & sustainable water solutions.

change in the Victorian Government's current water plan and deliver a
real, sustainable solution to Melbourne's water crisis.
